Installation / Set up

Follow these steps to install Builder CMS for Gravity Forms

  1. Purchase our plugin Builder CMS for Gravity Forms
  2. Install and activate the plugin on your WordPress website
  3. Navigate to the Gravity Forms Dashboard
  4. Click on Settings -> CMS Builder Add-on
  5. Enter the settings provided by Builder CMS and save the configuration
  6. In the desired form, add a feed by clicking on Settings > Builder CMS > Add New
  7. Map Builder CMS Keys to your Form fields

BuilderCMS Gravity Forms Plugin Setup Instructions

Prerequisites

Before installing the BuilderCMS plugin, ensure you have:

  • WordPress website with administrator access
  • Gravity Forms plugin installed and activated (required)
  • An active subscription from ADV Web Design
  • Your BuilderCMS credentials (provided by BuilderCMS)

Step 1: Install the BuilderCMS Plugin

  1. Download the Plugin
    • Download the plugin file (gravity-addon-builder-cms.zip) after checkout
    • Keep this file saved on your computer
  2. Upload the Plugin
    • Log into your WordPress admin dashboard
    • Go to Plugins → Add New
    • Click the “Upload Plugin” button at the top
    • Click “Choose File” and select the gravity-addon-builder-cms.zip file
    • Click “Install Now”
    • Once installed, click “Activate Plugin”
  3. Verify Installation
    • After activation, you should see “Gravity Form Addon Builder CMS” in your plugins list
    • The plugin should show as active with version information

Step 2: Configure BuilderCMS Settings

  1. Access Settings
    • In your WordPress admin, go to Forms → Settings
    • You’ll see a new “Builder CMS Add-On” option in the settings menu
    • Click on “Builder CMS Add-On”
  2. Enter Your BuilderCMS Credentials
    Fill out the following required fields (all information provided by BuilderCMS):Username (Required)

    • Enter the username provided by BuilderCMS

    Password (Required)

    • Enter the password provided by BuilderCMS

    Community Number (Required)

    • Enter your community number provided by BuilderCMS

    Cookie ID (Optional)

    • Enter your Cookie ID if provided by BuilderCMS
    • This enables automatic script inclusion for tracking

    Follow Up Code (Required)

    • Select from dropdown: A, B, C, D, E, or F
    • Use the code assigned to you by BuilderCMS

    Source (Required)

    • Enter your lead source identifier (e.g., “Website”)
  3. Save Settings
    • Click “Save Settings” at the bottom of the page
    • You should see a confirmation message

Step 3: Set Up Form Integration

Creating a New Form Feed

  1. Access Your Forms
    • Go to Forms → Forms in your WordPress admin
    • Click on the form you want to connect to BuilderCMS (e.g., “Contact us”)
  2. Add BuilderCMS Feed
    • In the form editor, look for “Settings” in the left sidebar
    • Click on “Builder CMS Add-On”
    • Click “Add New” to create a new feed
  3. Configure Feed Settings Feed Name
    • Enter a descriptive name (e.g., “Contact Form to BuilderCMS”)

    Field Mapping

    • Map your form fields to BuilderCMS fields:

    Required Fields:

    • First Name → Select your first name field
    • Last Name → Select your last name field

    Common Optional Fields:

    • Email Address → Select your email field
    • Phone Number → Select your phone field
    • Address – Street → Select your address field
    • Address – City → Select your city field
    • Address – State → Select your state field (use “States (Builder CMS)” predefined choices)
    • Address – Zip Code → Select your zip field
    • Comments → Select your message/comments field

    Special Fields:

    • Best Contact → Use “Best Contact (Builder CMS)” predefined choices
    • Purchase Timeframe → Use “Purchase Timeframe (Builder CMS)” predefined choices
    • Purchase Type → Use “Purchase Type (Builder CMS)” predefined choices
    • Income Level → Use “Income Level (Builder CMS)” predefined choices
    • Price Range → Use “Price Range (Builder CMS)” predefined choices
  4. Save Feed
    • Click “Update Settings” to save your field mappings

Step 4: Using Predefined Choices

The plugin provides several predefined choice sets for common real estate fields. When creating form fields, use these predefined options:

Available Predefined Choices:

  • Country (Builder CMS) – Complete country list with codes
  • States (Builder CMS) – US states with abbreviations
  • Best Contact (Builder CMS) – Home, Work, Email, Mobile, Text, etc.
  • Purchase Timeframe (Builder CMS) – Immediately, Less Than 3 Months, etc.
  • Purchase Type (Builder CMS) – Primary, Secondary, Investment, Other
  • Marital Status (Builder CMS) – Single, Married, Divorced, Widow
  • Income Level (Builder CMS) – Multiple ranges (Low/Medium/High)
  • Price Range (Builder CMS) – Multiple ranges (Low/Medium/High)
  • Desired Bedrooms (Builder CMS) – Studio, 1-3 Bedrooms
  • First Visit Code (Builder CMS) – Inquiry types with codes

How to Use Predefined Choices:

  1. When editing a form field in Gravity Forms
  2. Go to the “Choices” tab
  3. Click “Bulk add/Predefined choices”
  4. Select the appropriate “Builder CMS” option from the dropdown
  5. The choices will be automatically populated

Step 6: Test Your Setup

  1. Submit a Test Entry
    • Visit your form on the frontend
    • Fill out and submit a test entry
    • Check that the form submits successfully
  2. Verify Integration
    • Check your BuilderCMS dashboard to confirm the lead was received
    • Verify all mapped fields are populated correctly
  3. Check Logs (if needed)
    • In WordPress admin, go to Forms → Settings → Logging
    • Enable logging to troubleshoot any issues

Troubleshooting

Common Issues:

“Subscription Required” Messages

  • Ensure your BuilderCMS subscription is active

Forms Not Sending to BuilderCMS

  • Verify all required settings are filled correctly
  • Check that Gravity Forms is activated
  • Use the “Clear All Caches” button in Builder CMS settings
  • Activate Logging settings in Gravity Forms
  • Submit a new test form
  • Go to Gravity Forms settings → Logging → Click “View Logs” under Gravity Form Addon Builder CMS

Field Mapping Issues

  • Ensure First Name and Last Name are mapped (required)
  • Use predefined choices for dropdown fields when specified

Cache Management

If you experience issues with subscription status or updates:

  • Go to Forms → Settings → Builder CMS Add-On
  • Scroll to “Cache Management”
  • Click “Clear All Caches”
  • Wait for confirmation and page reload
